Privacy
You choose whether to send anonymous usage reports, save account data, connect Steam, or submit a tip. Each is described below.
Anonymous usage reports
Once a day, and only after you have seen the first-run screen and kept it on, Loadkit sends one report to our server. It contains:
- app version
- platform
- device type
- window mode
- whether the last session closed cleanly
- whether the last update worked
- timezone
- language
- a random install id
The install id is a random number made on your device. It lets us count installs. It is not tied to you, your account, or your hardware, and you can reset it in Settings.
When you apply or undo a fix, the same switch also lets Loadkit send what happened. Results wait on your device and go out with the next report, only when there are any. Each one contains:
- which fix was applied or undone, which also tells us the game
- whether it worked
- the type of error, if it did not
- the catalog release
- the store
- the compatibility tool and its version
What a usage report never sends
- your library
- your account
- file paths
- hardware ids
- your IP address
Our server does not store your IP address. It keeps each report for 90 days.
Turning it off
Settings, then Usage report. Off stops these reports immediately. You can turn them back on any time.
Tips you send us
Loadkit has a page where you can tell us about a fix for a game, an app we should add, or something that is broken. It sends the following, and only when you send one.
- what you wrote
- the game you named, if you named one
- any links you added
- your email address, only if you chose to fill it in
- which app version, platform, device type, game launcher and window mode you are on, if the tip came from the Loadkit app
It never sends:
- your library
- your account
- file paths
- hardware ids
- your IP address
As with the usage report, our server does not store your IP address. It counts how many tips one connection has sent in the last hour, so nobody can flood the box, and keeps nothing else about it.
Accounts
If you sign in, Loadkit keeps your favorites and what you launched so they follow you between devices. That is stored under your account and is separate from the usage report.
Connecting Steam
Connecting Steam is optional. After you sign in on Steam's website and confirm the connection in Loadkit, our server saves your Steam ID, the names and Steam app IDs of games Steam makes visible to us, how long you have played each one and when you last played it (as Steam reports them), and when the library was refreshed. These records belong to your Loadkit account and let you browse games and guides across devices before installing.
Steam game details must be public for this import. Loadkit does not collect your Steam password or Steam session cookies. The connection page uses a temporary cookie to verify the browser completing sign-in.
Your device keeps a saved copy for offline browsing. Signing out clears that local copy. Disconnect Steam in Account to remove the connection, the imported game list and its play history from our server and this device. Other offline devices can show their last saved copy until they reconnect or you sign out there. Your installed games and Loadkit favorites stay in place.
This website
This website sets no cookies and has no accounts. Apart from the page view counting described below, the only thing it ever sends anywhere is a tip you fill in and submit yourself, on the tip page.
To count visits, this website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is processed by Cloudflare. It uses no cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not track you across other sites. It records page views, the referring site, browser and device type, your country, and page load timing (Core Web Vitals), as aggregate figures that are not tied to you.
